  1. Climate Crisis and Security Threat: We should take the opportunities to review the lifestyle and business models
  2. Ecosystem: Retail giants like H&M and Coca-cola engages in plastic waste reduction. Projects
  3. Leadership: When the policy of a country is not aggressive enough to impose effective and efficient policies for sustainability, citizens in other levels take more active action to engage to sustainability and became leaders in their peers. A good example can be seen on the city level is Kyoto. Their major commit to carbon emission reduction and work with CDP for a very fruitful outcome. Also, more companies are now committed to GHG emission targets. They are rated by many ESG raters and take the chance to make improvement.
  4. International Relationship: Undoubtedly, China and the U.S. can massively influence the global economy and environment. China-U.S. Trade tension may slower the infrastructure investment in carbon-intensive products.
  5. High interest in sustainability: Individual expect more sustainable and accessible lifestyle. The activists group up as Extinction Rebellion and pushing all the stakeholder to take ambitious actions.
  6. Socially irresponsible firms will struggle. In 2019 and the future, firms are expected to engage in corporate responsibility (CR). This expectation makes CR be the table stake of firms. CR can be engaged in various aspects, includes employee volunteerism, select the suppliers who are socially responsible and more.
